Introduction:
Development projects often succeed or fail based on how well they understand the communities they aim to serve. At HV Associates, we believe that robust baseline and endline surveys are not just technical tasks—they are strategic tools.
Case in Focus:
In partnership with ActionAid Bangladesh, SDF, and PKSF, HV conducted nationwide baseline surveys covering poverty, gender, WASH, livelihoods, and education indicators. Our work influenced key programmatic decisions for projects like PRAGATI, RELI, and LICHSP.
Our Methodology:
- Mixed-method data collection (quantitative + qualitative)
- Use of ODK-based mobile survey tools for real-time validation
- Participatory rural appraisal (PRA) methods for deeper insights
Outcomes:
- Identified real needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups
- Enabled accurate targeting for cash support, skill training, and infrastructure development
- Improved accountability and adaptive management among implementing partners
Conclusion:
Baseline data is the foundation of impact. At HV, we don’t just collect numbers—we create the evidence for change.
